Based in Glossop Derbyshire, the Triathlon Club started in 2013. Training focuses on all three disciplines but also includes fitness training and open water swimming. For £15 a month full membership members are entitled to join as many of the weekly sessions as they wish. Club members train for events other than triathlons and participate in fell running, road races, cycling sportive, Park run, SwimRun and the Great Swims.
Toddbrook Open Water Swimming (TOWS)
Glossop Triathlon Club also run an open water swimming venue in Whaley Bridge, which is also open to non-members. The TOWS venue was accredited by SH2OUT in 2018.

The site is run on a voluntary basis by friendly trained safety volunteers in kayaks and land based spotters, with a checking in and out process. The Sailing Clubhouse is available for changing and a hot drink after your swim. Our safety procedures and risk assessments are reviewed every year and water quality testing is undertaken regularly.
To join us on the 500m marked course you need to be able to swim 400m unaided in a swimming pool and be over 16. Juniors (over 12) may be allowed with adult supervision - please contact us.
You will need to wear a brightly coloured swim hat for visibility and to wear a wet suit. If you prefer to swim in 'skins' (no wet suit) you must wear a recognised tow float (Swim Safe or similar). Download the full Tow-the-line guidelines

TOWS is run on a not-for-profit basis with all proceeds going towards hire of the venue, Canal & Rivers Trust licence, equipment and safety training, or is returned to GTC to develop training and other Club facilities.
Glossop Triathlon Club are currently running our Winter Training Schedule through the week for all our monthly paying members (£15/month). Please contact us if you wish to Pay as You Go.
Tuesday - Run Training is provided via Glossopdale Harriers and is organised under their Club systems and Risk Assessments. Starting at various locations around Glossop these sessions are run for all abilities and include pace setting, VO2 max, pyramid and hill reps to improve pacing and stamina across all distances.
Wednesday - Turbo Training Wednesday evenings, emphasise being on the social side, from beginners to more experienced. We ride together and no-one gets left behind.
Thursday - Lane Swimming - monthly members only
Sunday evening - Pool Swim Training in Glossop Pool where the Club has access to all 4 lanes and caters for all abilities in structured coached sessions. These work on technique drills, pacing, sprint and endurance. Using personal times (Critical Swim Speeds) the sessions are designed so members can train at their own optimum level throughout the 1 hour session.
